Different Cooling Options for Hydraulic Balers

Most balers & baling machines are of hydraulic type. In hydraulic systems, energy is transformed and transmitted. During this process, part of the mechanical and hydraulic energy would be converted into heat. The consequences of overheating are poor lubricating properties, higher risk of internal leakage, damaged components, etc.

Cooling is a very important factor that needs to be considered while building a baler. An efficient cooling system brings following benefits:
  • Extended lifespan of hydraulic system.
  • Extended lifespan of hydraulic oil.
  • Increased hydraulic system’s availability, more operating time and fewer shutdowns.
  • Reduced service and repair costs.
  • High efficiency level maintained in continuous operation. The system’s efficiency falls if the temperature exceeds the ideal working temperature.
There are three cooling options available at SINOBALER, which are Air Cooling, AC (Air Conditioner) Cooling and Water Cooling.

Wind Cooling-Sinobaler

Water Cooling-Sinobaler
Air Conditioner Cooling-Sinobaler

Air cooling is suitable for countries with low ambient temperature. The noise of this cooling option is high. Whilst in countries with high ambient temperature like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, India etc. the ambient temperature can reach 50 degree centigrade in summer, and air cooling will not be efficient. Compared with Air Cooling, AC (Air Conditioner) Cooling has better cooling effect, less electric power consumption and less noise. Water cooling on the other hand is with good cooling effect even under high temperature, but will take up some extra space as it requires a separate cooling tower and will consume certain amount of water every day.

The best cooling option is decided by considering clients’ local conditions, ambient temperature, adequacy of water supply etc. Contact Sinobaler for more details of each cooling option.

The Difference Among Strapping Tools

Strapping is an essential process in making bales. There are plastic straps, hemp rope, and metal wires available for binding up the bale. Most people in solid waste recycling business prefer plastic strapping materials over metal wire, out of cost consideration.

For joining plastic straps together, strapping tools are necessary. In general, there are three kinds of strapping tools available, which are Manual Strapping Tool, Electric Strapping Tool and Pneumatic Strapping Tool.

Sinobaler Manual Strapping Tool
The Manual Strapping Tool is composed of two parts: a clamp and a strainer. It has to be used together with metal strapping buckle and is the most economical option as it is manually powered and structure is simple.
Sinobaler Electric Strapping Tool

The electric strapping tool supplied by SINOBALER is driven by electricity. There are two BOSCH lithium batteries inside which are rechargeable and can be charged by 100-240V voltage, either 50 or 60Hz, single phase power. Sinobaler's Electric Strapping Tool efficiently tightens, friction buckles and straps automatically with the push of a button. It is a fast, safe and simple, greatly improving efficiency.

Sinobaler Pneumatic Strapping Tool

Sinobaler Pneumatic Strapping Tool requires air pressure created by an air compressor. If you would like to use this tool, you need to prepare an air compressor. The sealing type of both electric and pneumatic strapping tools is the same which is friction weld. The driven way is the major difference between these two strapping tools.

Cotton Waste Reuse

Cotton is a natural cellulose fiber, which is one of the oldest and most used natural fibers applied in various fields in the world today. It is a main composition of paper and textiles.

In the first modern industrial, cotton articles are used to make paper. Later, people also make paper by recycling old paper and using wood pulp. However, paper made from wood pulp is lower quality than made from cotton. Cotton paper is much more durable and long lasting than wood pulp paper. Cotton can also be easily recycled together with old paper, into new paper.

Waste cotton can be made into high quality fabric and yarn. The cellulose fibers in cotton are long, thus cotton textile is quite durable. Some cotton waste recycling facilities work in this way: Firstly the manufacturers source raw waste worldwide and meanwhile control the material quality. Secondly these cotton waste is carded in multiple steps into very fine forms, and eventually the cotton waste becomes a wad-like substance which is suitable for spinning yarn. At the beginning of the spinning process, the recycled waste cotton is ground and then transported to the spinning machines. Thereafter, the waste will be produced into finer yarn by the spinning machines until a desired consistency and weight is reached. Eventually, the yarn is stabilized by several processes that imbues the yarn with required quality. The finally recycled yarn can be used for knitting or weaving into a variety type of fabric.

During the process of transporting waste cotton, many manufacturers use hydraulic baling machines to compress the waste cottons and make into neat and dense square bales so that their transportation cost, loading and unloading cost, storage cost will be greatly saved. SINOBALER lifting chamber baler is a good choice for making your large volume loose waste cottons into high dense square bales. If you are interested in baling cotton waste, please check our video of lifting chamber baler at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uIMwJuNgt0 or twin chamber baler at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF9eN9gp5Hw  for more detail information.

Baler or Compactor, which one is right for you?

If your business involves regular handling of waste material, a waste compactor or a baler can help make your task much easier. What’s the difference between a compactor and a baler? How can you determine which one suits your needs the best? Here is a comparison to help you choose the right machine:

Material Type:
Compactors are used to compress a large amount of unsorted mixed waste into a contained area to be picked up and collected by waste collector and further delivered to landfill.
Balers are for compressing recyclable materials sorted from general waste stream, such as paper, cardboard, plastics, metal etc., into dense and regularly shaped bales for further recycling and reuse.

Destination:
Waste recyclers may prefer to receive recyclable materials in a specific weight and/or size. Transportation of dense bales is cost-effective. Baler is the right choice in this case.
If a trash collector is picking up the finished units, larger loads from a compactor are preferred.

In general, a baler is used to bale or bundle recyclable material such as cardboard, paper, plastics, metal etc., for resale to a recycling company. A compactor is simply used to reduce the volume of trash before being picked up by a hauling company.

With the right understanding of the two machines, you can decide which machine is the correct one for your business. SINOBALER is a specialized manufacturer of a wide range of balers, and if you need balers, please feel free to contact our Sales Representative at info@sinobaler.com for more information.

Conveyors

Conveyor is a common piece of mechanical handling equipment that moves materials from one location to another. With the increased demand of an automated operation, more and more industries prefer to use conveyor to replace manual transportation and handling of goods. This is also the case in waste management and recycling business, more clients tend to have conveyor connection with baler for ease of operation and saving labor.

There are mainly two types of conveyor that are used for Sinobaler baling machines.

1. Heavy Duty Steel Chain Conveyor
2. Belt Conveyor

The Heavy Duty Steel Chain conveyor is usually used together with heavy duty type of horizontal baler, like Sinobaler manual tie horizontal balers and automatic horizontal balers, for conveying waste material like cardboard, paper, films and other bulky materials into the balers. Since these horizontal balers are with higher capacity than the average vertical balers, so conveyor for such balers need to be built in a tough and strong way for conveying large amount of materials. This heavy duty steel chain conveyor as its name suggest is with complete steel construction with an average weight of above 7 tons. It also has a horizontal part which you can bury below ground level for very convenient feeding.

Belt Conveyor adopts high strength PVC conveying belt and damper ensuring no material spillage. It is widely used to transport small to medium sized materials, such as used clothes, small carton boxes, PET bottles, aluminum cans etc. At SINOBALER, they are usually connected with our horizontal bagging baler for conveying wood shavings, rice husk etc.
It can also be connected with vertical balers.

To obtain more knowledge about conveyor and baling machines, Sinobaler experts are very glad to help you.

Banana Fiber

From the fruits to the flowers and the leaves, every part of the banana plant can be put into some kind of use. While we eat the banana fruit, the plant also provides us with valuable fiber. Fiber can be extracted from the bark of the banana tree and then be used to make various products ranging from decorative items to paper and fabric.

Among the wide uses of banana fiber, making into fabric is one of the most important and most beneficial thing. It has become a popular raw material for making high quality textile.

Banana fiber is the best natural fiber which is eco-friendly and chemical free, compared with high-cost synthetic fiber and any other organic fiber, banana fiber features healthy, economic, water, heat and fire resistant, grease proof, totally bio-degradable, stronger spinning ability and tensile strength, light weight, smaller elongation, strong moisture absorption ability and fast moisture release ability.

Banana fiber is mainly made up of cell tissue and bonded by natural gums and its appearance is very like natural bamboo fiber, but banana fiber is much finer and stronger spin ability than bamboo fiber. The cloth made from banana fiber is very comfortable to wear and reduce off the scorching heat because it has cooling effect, and this kind of cloth does not shrink and the colors do not fade after wash. The fabric can be made of 100% banana fiber, or blended with other fiber like cotton to make it more durable.

For example, Saris is one kind of textile product made from natural fiber like banana fiber. In Philippines, people use the banana fiber to make shirts and other dresses. In Japan, the history of using banana fiber for cloth can be date back to at least 13th century.

In the banana fiber business, many banana fiber manufacturers face a lot of difficulty in transporting the finished banana fiber and difficult for loading and unloading, and also takes them a lot of space for storage. All of these difficulties are because they are transporting and storing the banana fiber without baling. SINOBALER provides you suitable and ideal baling solutions to solve all these difficulties and saves your transportation and storage cost. For example, SINOBALER Multi-purpose Vertical Baler is a good choice to make bale weight ranging from 20kgs to 100kgs. Or many other balers are available for different bale weight expectation.

Things to keep in mind on how to choose a right baler

When going through the process of choosing the right baler for your business, here are a few pointers:

Safety First
It is important to consider baler safety features when you choose the right baler for your application. Ask the following questions to your baler manufacturer firstly:
Does the manufacturer provide additional warranty or guarantee production values?
Is training service provided for operators and maintenance personnel after installation?
Is the machine with clear safety warning marks?
Are all the rotation parts protected with safety equipments?
Will the machine be shipped via seaworthy package for safety transportation?

Be sure that the manufacturer provides you the baler which is simple and safe to operate.

Weather conditions
Where will you run the baler? Inside the warehouse or in the open air where is without any protection to keep away from rainwater? If it is the former, you still need to consider the affect will be caused by the maximum temperature during summer. The hydraulic system is especially sensitive to the high temperature. So you should always keep in mind that the high quality cooling system is extremely important to keep baler running at peak performance under hot weather.

While if you run the baler outdoors without any cover, make sure the components are with higher IP grade, especially the important hydraulic and electrical parts, such as the motor, pump, field terminal assembly, etc.

Energy consumption
Environmental protection and energy conservation are the theme of the world today. The baler now is playing an important role in waste recycling area. It takes its responsibility for the global environmental protection like all other recycling equipments. At the same time, energy consumption issue is also getting more and more attention. So when you choose a baler, don’t forget to find out the optimal power you want your baler to be.

Space
When you choose a baler, you need to know how much space you can provide for it. Usually, vertical balers are good choice to run in supermarkets, grocery stores, department stores, pharmacies, small factories, vessels, offices, etc. While for the big recycling plants, distribution centers, etc, horizontal balers are more suitable for pressing large volume waste.

Investment and Return on Investment
The most important and ultimate aim to use the machine instead of human today is to improve work capacity and get max return on investment. Saving labor cost means you get disguised return on investment directly. While maximizing throughput speeds up the process to get return on investment. When you decide to recycle large volume waste, a fully automatic horizontal baler is an ideal choice for you to get return on investment in a shorter time than vertical type, it does great job in both saving labor cost and maximize the throughput rate. Its fully automatic tying system, PLC control, automatic material feeding system, etc, all of these make it outstanding among all baler types. While for small factories and departments, etc where they need to handle the daily waste, vertical balers are more worth of investment to your business.

Baled Material's Characteristics
The characteristics of the materials to be baled also plays an important role in determining the size and type of baler to purchase, such as expansion rate, retention rate, hollowness, density, dissipation, etc. Choosing a particular baler model, such as cardboard baler versus bottle baler, is largely based on the specific material that will be received and how it will be most efficiently processed.
While a cardboard baler lends itself better to baling paper products such as OCC, carton waste or printer’s waste, bottle baler works best on products such as plastic bottles or aluminum containers which with odd shapes, low compressibility or high memory retention.

Maintenance
A low maintenance cost is critical to selecting the latest baler in their processing operation. Low maintenance means no specialized or customized parts. A baler with standardized hydraulic and electrical components makes you find the local replacements conveniently. You can go into any hydraulic shop or electrical supply house and get parts for it when you do not want to call the manufacturer and have the replacements delivered by air next day.

If you have any questions or comments while choosing right baler, please remember SinoBaler is always ready for assistance.
